"A missing check in a four-line Rust helper prevented named integer primary keys from receiving the direct row-lookup behavior expected of SQLite."
Hōrōshi traced a major lookup-planning failure to the four-line is_rowid_ref helper, which recognized literal rowid aliases but failed to recognize named INTEGER PRIMARY KEY columns. Consequently, ordinary primary-key queries could execute full table scans rather than efficient B-tree searches. The example illustrates how a small omitted implementation detail can undermine an otherwise substantial codebase.
