In this 1995 WIRED interview, Moravec described successive generations of increasingly capable robots culminating in systems expected to match human abilities around 2040. Unlike Turing's conversational benchmark, Moravec's prediction explicitly emphasized physically capable machines and the progressive automation of human work.
